Mastering
Mastering I did this stage after finishing all songs as I wanted the sound to be consistent for the EP. I watched this youtube video to give me some techniques on how to master my tracks ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgzp2v-zzfI ). Also Davey my lecturer gave me a quick tutorial on what to do. I started off by adding a Multipressor to the stereo output channel. This plugin splits my track into different frequency bands which then enables me to compress them individually. this will restrict any massive dynamic range across the tracks. I then added a Limiter which allows me to make my track as loud as possible without clipping leading it to distort. My friend who is a producer suggested that I should compare my tracks with one that sounds similar to my songs to use it as a guide. With the limiter window up, I then switched between the song Nevermind by Dennis Lloyd and my tracks and increased the gain until it was similar to the song. This meant that the levels...
